I actually watched something on this. Quite a few confessions are forced by Police interrogation methods. They had this 13 year old boy suspected of murdering his sister - they kept at him for so long they eventually broke the poor kids psyche and convinced him that he killed her in his sleep. They eventually found out he was innocent and some random dude just committed a random act of violence.
But yeah, either way this kid is going to be fucked up for awhile after being convinced by the Police that he murdered his own sister.
